I have just received DAVID LODGE: DEAF SENTENCE which is somewhat out of my genres but he is a writer I always enjoy and JAMES HOLLAND: THE ODIN MISSION, a WW2 military fiction title - the first of an intended series. Which reminds me: I wonder when we will see the second in the Coward series from James Delingpole?

For those of you curious to know exactly where Post Mortem Books is in relation to the rest of the world you can search "Post Mortem Books" on Google Map UK and you will be pin-pointed to our base. If you click on the satellite feature of the map and come down close enough you can actually see the nose of my car sticking out from under the tree in the back parking lot! Spooky!!HOW TO KEEP UP WITH NEW TITLES
Gradually over the months I have been tackling the problem of how customers can keep up to date with new and forthcoming titles. Much more by trial and error rather than planned judgement I have worked out the plan as follows:
After the 20th of each month I will create the NEW MONTH ADDITIONS. Thus on 20th June the JULY ADDITIONS appears on the left-hand side. Gradually over the next 30 days I will add titles into this section as and when I receive information from publishers. Then on the 20th of the next month I will move onto the next month's additions and so on..
Customers can dip into the new month's additions all the way through from the 20th of one month to the 19th of next month and expect to see new titles added during this period. If you only want to visit once then the 19th of each month will be the best day to catch everything.
FORGOTTEN WHAT YOU HAVE ORDERED?
As I list some way ahead to ensure I get first printings there will be occasions when a customer may well have forgotten what has been ordered. This is not a problem
Just email me and ask what is on file and I will reply by return (unless on holiday) with the full list
Equally customers need not worry about duplicating orders. Unless you specify that an order for a particular title is ADDITIONAL to a previous order I will always assume that you need just ONE copy of each title (unless of course you have specifically ordered multiple copies of a particular title). If there is any doubt I will always email you to confirm. DON'T FORGET: FREQUENT BUYER POINTS ADD UP!
I have instituted a frequent buyer point system for all customers that will give a discount for regular buyers and will I hope, be an incentive for new customers to return on a regular basis. It works like this:
Each pound spent on books will attract 5 points. The book can be in any category, new or secondhand, purchased from the catalogues or from this webiste.
NO POINTS WILL BE ALLOCATED FOR ANY ORDERS THROUGH ABEBOOKS.COM./AMAZON/EBAY
Customers must accumulate 500 points (i.e. spend £100.00) before they can be redeemed as a discount. One point = one penny, thus customers who accumulate 500 points will be allowed £5.00 discount against a future purchase. Frequent Buyer Points (FBP) may be accumulated and used at any time over 500 points. Points can only be exchanged for discount against purchases and cannot be exchanged for cash. Customers who do not purchase anything in a 12 month period will lose any accumulated FBP (FB being the point of the exercise!).
Shipping and postage charges do not accumulate points.
Trade customers already receiving discount are not eligible for points .
FBP are not transferable from one customer to another. Each invoice will show the status of your FBP and your progress towards 500 points, so you will not have to keep track yourself. |
